SIERRA
MOUNTAIN SOCCER CLUB
COACHES
EDUCATION PROGRAM
The
Head Coaches for the competitive teams in the Club are licensed
professionals. They are certified by either the State of Nevada
or California and hold a minimum of a “E” license, most
hold "D" and above. The Competitive Volunteer Assistant Coaches
and Devo coaches are required to obtain a minimum of an "E" license in
their first full soccer year of partipation. All of our coaches
continue their education and training within their chosen state,
regional and/or national association credential process as well as our
own club hosted training programs. The Club supports the
continued growth of our coaches within the United States Soccer
Federation, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and
U.S. Club Soccer, including their affiliate leagues and Olympic
Development programs. Our coaches are required to attend monthly
club coach sessions which address topics specific to the development of
the players in our Club. Our Director of Coaching, Amy
Machin-Ward, holds the highest national level credentials and is
responsible for the development of our coaches. Her bio is
located in the DOC section on this site. Links to the literature,
training tips and agendas for our monthly meetings are listed
