Congratulation to the Strikers

First Place in U14
2008 Comstock Shootout

Edmonds Field in Carson City was the battle grounds for the annual Comstock Shootout.  The Strikers, U14 boys team of the Sierra Mountain Soccer Club, drew a difficult schedule.  Saturday morning The Strikers played the Richmond Rayos.  Despite The Strikers early lead, the Richmond Rayos made a quick comeback.  Fortunately, The Strikers held their lead and won 4-3.  Later that afternoon, The Strikers beat the Jaguars 95 with an impressive 4-0 score.  But here comes Sunday morning - to make it to the championship, The Strikers had to win against the SPSSC Guerreros.  Play was fast and furious on both sides, but The Strikers came out victorious with a win 2-1.

For the championship game, The Strikers had to play the Carson Patriots.  Having played them before, The Strikers knew they had to have their “game on.” Once the dust settled, The Strikers had come out victorious with a win of 2-1.
